Fees and Charges.

Great Southern Computer Services is based at 96 Clive Street in Katanning, WA.

Standard Fees:

All amounts quoted include GST. (as of 1/5/2011).

• Technical Support: $20 per 15 mins.
  This applies to any 'Over the counter' (in shop) or 'over the Phone' provided support including: "I just have a quick question", or similar requests.
  (a simple "yes" or "no" question and/or basic advice related to a product purchased in our shop is free).
• Standard Minimum Fee ("Workshop"): $65.00* (1)
  Includes any 'workshop' services provided (up to the first 30 minutes): If you decide to follow our recommendation (repair, upgrade, re-install, etc), or the job takes longer than 30 mins, then the minimum fee will be waived and our standard hourly rate or fixed fee will apply, however, a Technical Support fee may apply for the time taken to diagnose the problem. This is not a "while you wait" service: Drop-off & pick up  only. 
• Standard Hourly Rate (Workshop): $80.00/hr* (discounts may apply)
  The standard hourly rate applies after the first 30 minutes (see above) and is charged in 15 minute intervals (eg. $20.00 every 15mins). The standard hourly rate applies to any work performed in our workshop,(not including Network Servers). It does not include pickup or delivery (see "Call Out").
• Fixed Fees: $ASK
  Many services (loading Linux or Windows, backup & restore, etc) have fixed pricing. Contact us for the details.
• "Call Out": $75.00* (2) (see also Delivery/Installation Fee)
  This includes the first 30 mins onsite. If the job is completed within 30 mins, we'll be happy to spend the remaining time answering questions, providing user training, or doing general PC maintenance. After the first 30 mins, our standard (onsite) hourly rate applies. see also: Travel Fee.
• Standard Hourly Rate (on-site): $90.00/hr*
  Our standard hourly rate applies after the first 30 mins on-site (see "Call Out") and is charged in 15 minute intervals (eg. minimum of $22.50 every 15 mins). The standard hourly rate applies to any work related to PCs or peripherals (not including Network Servers).
• Standard Hourly Rate - Servers: $120.00*
  Time spent configuring Network Servers (Windows/Linux) will be charged at a higher rate due to the special skills required and the additional complexity of these systems. This applies equally to on-site or workshop based jobs.
• Prepaid Hours: from just $425.00
  Significant benefits are available if blocks of time are pre-paid.
  Savings of $5 - $40 per hour and other benefits. (See details).
• Training: $80/hr (Training Room), $90/hr (onsite).
  One-on-one or small group training (Linux or Windows) is available, at your home/business or in our Training Room (6 computers). Group pricing available. Contact Us for details.
• Discounts: Holders of valid Pensioner or Health Care Cards may be eligible for a discount of up to 30% on our standard hourly rates (or fixed fees), at our discretion. Please discuss your needs before the required work has been initiated.
• After Hours - Hourly Rate x 1.5: Any work carried out before 8:00am, after 6pm or on Saturday Afternoon (after 1pm) will be charged at 1.5 x the standard rate (unless we are already on site and in the process of completing a job - in this case the after hours rate will take effect 2 hours later).
• Sunday - Hourly Rate x2:
  Work carried out on Sunday will be charged at double the standard hourly rate. (discounts may apply for pre-arranged work or as part of a larger project).
• Urgent Requests x1.5:  (Critical x 2)
  Where possible, urgent requests will be attended to within 24 hours (next day). Urgent requests will be charged at 1.5 times the relevant standard rates. Critical requests, requiring an immediate response (within 2 hrs) will be charged at double the relevant standard rates. You can minimise the potential cost of urgent or critical requests by purchasing a block of pre-paid hours (See details).
• Standard Delivery/Installation Fees: $35*
  Products ordered (over the phone or in person) for high priority delivery (in town), such as ADSL Modems, Laser Toner, Ink Jet Cartridges or PC peripherals, will attract a minimum $35 delivery and installation fee. (This fees does not include the cost of the goods supplied) Our standard call out fee applies instead if the onsite visit takes more than 10 minutes.
• Pickup: Pickup or Drop-off available during shop hours  (at other times by appointment only: call 0400 214 004 for details).
• Travel Fee: $0.90/km
  If you are outside Katanning, a Travel Fee of $0.90 per KM will apply. This covers both the time and related expenses (fuel, running costs, etc). See also location notes below.
• Terms:
  • All business accounts are 7 days net. A 5% discount is available (as a credit on next invoice) if payment is made immediately on completion of the work (or immediately on receipt of invoice, if not provided at the completion of the job) - mention this website offer to obtain the discount (does not apply if other discounts have already been applied).
  • Private Individuals (non-business) must pay immediately for any work carried out or items supplied, including our standard minimum fee. - mention this website offer to obtain a 5% discount.

(1): Non-business customers are required to pay "workshop" fees immediately on completion or work or at pickup: If the issue is resolved within 30mins no other labour charges will apply. If it takes longer than 30 mins or parts are required, we will, upon request, provide you with an estimate of costs before proceeding with the job.

Locations

Our goal is to provide a service to a significant part of the 'Great Southern'. We are prepared to travel to you and plan to make regular trips to outlying areas (based on demand). We are happy to travel to any locations within ~200km of Katanning. If in doubt, call to request a quote (including travel cost). If you are located more than 20 km from Katanning, you can help us to help you by talking to your neighbours and friends: If we visit more than one home or business in a particular area, on the same trip (by prior arrangement), we'll gladly 'share' the cost of travel, saving you $$$.
